Old Sampler
This is a replica of a sampler my grandmother stitched in 1910 on the way to the US from Yugoslavia -- she was 15 at the time. My sister has the original. The original was stitched on white/ecru linen using red thread and gray for the Initial S. I used Belfast Raw Linen and Gentle Arts thread (purples). This was also finished by Carol Milburn -- another wonderful job!

Did you chart this?
ReplyDeleteWow! This is a gorgeous piece Benji! and Carol finished it beautifully!
ReplyDeleteYes, I charted a long time ago -- my sister wouldn't part with the original so I sat down with her piece and some graph paper!
